Cultivating self-compassion is the emotional attitude that buffers suffering. It forms a bridge between attachment theory and traditional meditation allowing us to be with the pain of life without separation. It can’t just be a cognitive understanding of compassion; in dealing with trauma it requires compassion to be embodied.
This experiential workshop will support you in building the courageous mindset of self-compassion, giving you a felt experience that you can easily translate into your work with your own clients. The result of cultivating self-compassion is a greater emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, forgive ourselves, and respond to ourselves and others with care and respect, and be fully human.
Self-compassion can be learned by anyone, even those who didn’t receive enough affection in childhood or who find it embarrassing to be kind to oneself. It’s especially important in psychotherapy balancing out the suffering of life. This experiential workshop will give you theory and practices to enhance emotional wellbeing, reduce anxiety and depression, maintains healthy habits and help form better relationships.
