At the University of Essex, Renos K. Papadopoulos, Ph.D., is a Professor of Analytical Psychology at the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies, the Director of the ‘Centre for Trauma, Asylum and Refugees’, and a member of both the Human Rights Centre and of the Transitional Justice Network. Dr. Papadopoulos lectures and offers specialist trainings internationally, with his writings appearing in fourteen languages.
As consultant to the United Nations and other organizations, he has been working with refugees and other survivors of political violence, torture and disasters in many countries. He is the founder and director of the ‘MA / PhD in Refugee Care’ that is offered jointly by the University of Essex and the Tavistock Clinic, where he is an Honorary Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Family Psychotherapist. In addition, he is a training and supervising Jungian psychoanalyst and systemic family psychotherapist in private practice.
The session is hosted in collaboration with the Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC), the Brain and Mind Research Institute (uOBMRI) and the Department of Psychiatry.
